Program Highlights:
- Program runs September 12, 2006 - December 31, 2006
- Rebates Available:
-- $300.00 for replacement of an existing electric water heater with a propane water heater.
-- $300.00 for the installation of a propane water heater in new construction. - If the pool of rebates ($300,000.00) is exhausted, MPGA may or may not elect to fund additional rebates
- Safety Inspections – A safety inspection consists of an on-site, qualified system inspection, by or on behalf of a Propane Marketer, to verify that the propane system, including all equipment, is installed in compliance with the Program terms and conditions and all laws, and that the system has passed a pressure or leak test. A “Gas Check: is an acceptable Safety Inspection. Written documentation of the Safety Inspection is required.
- Eligible Water Heaters – Propane-fueled water heaters of either a (i) storage type rated at not less than 30 gallons of water capacity; or (ii) instantaneous-type rated at not less than 50,000 Btu/hour input. All Eligible Water Heaters must comply with the Energy Policy and Conservation Act and must be approved and listed by the American Gas Association’s GAMA Consumer Directory of Certified Efficiency Ratings for Residential Heating and Water Equipment.
- Eligible Installation – All eligible installations must occur during the Coverage Period. Installations that are not for permanent use are not eligible for the rebates. Installations in motor homes, travel trailers, garages, outbuildings, shops, and barns are not eligible for the rebates. The replacement of an existing propane water heater with a new propane water heater is not an eligible installation.
- Limits on the numbers of rebates per applicant -- Only one rebate shall be paid for each Eligible Installation. An Applicant may apply for one rebate for each Eligible Installation. MPGA reserves the right to limit the total number of rebates that may be paid to an Applicant.
